The procedure for the issue of passports

The following documents are required for the issue of international (foreign) passport to citizens reached the ages of 18:
 
Military card for men at the ages of 18-35, or Certificate (white ticket) for recruiting station in accordance with the right to deferment granted by Military commissariat;
Identity card;

For urgent medical treatment of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan or of a person (persons) beside him/her, or in cases of serious illness or death of a close relative living abroad, the appropriate certifying documents are required for the issue of passport in two working days.

- Confirmation letter from health authority, stating the necessity for the urgent medical treatment;
- Confirmation letter from foreign medical institution, stating the necessity for the urgent medical (in the same time, the opinion of the medical institution on the patient's place of residence must be presented);
- Certificate of serious illness or death of the relative of the applicant from foreign medical institution;

International passport is issued within 1, 5 or at longest 10 working days in accordance with the paid state duty after the citizen has applied for it. According to the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the state duty”, the state duty for the issue of international passport to persons reached the ages of 18  has been determined as following:

•    In 10 days -  40 AZN;
•    In 5 days - 80 AZN;
•    In 1 day - 160 AZN.

Note: In case of fault in international passport, as well as, on the information its electronic passport, it is renewed within a day from the date of issue free of charge.
International passport is issued for the period in accordance with paid state duty. When it is ready, SMS notification is sent to the citizen. For getting international passport, citizens can approach to the Department with their Identity cards any day of the week
